Nick Godbehere of Shafter High, a California signee, finished third in both the boys discus throw and shot put at Nike Outdoor Nationals at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Godbehere produced a sixth-round mark of 63-8.25 (19.41m) in the shot put and added another personal-best effort with 191-10 (58.48m) in the final round of the discus. Godbehere was the only male athlete to place in the top three nationally in both events.
